SLUG 2015

Our show season for 2015 began last weekend at the Saskatoon Model Train Show which saw 5700 people pass through it's doors!  10 members took part in the show where we took home the Best Non-Scale award for the fourth year in a row!

Our next show is in Moose Jaw at the Thunder Creek Model Train Show, March 21-22.  Hope to see you there!

Moose Jaw Train Show Round up

2014 saw the Saskatchewan Lego Users Group return to the Thunder Creek Model Train Show in Moose Jaw!  We were unable to attend last year due to adverse weather conditions, but were happy to attend this show once more!

The show saw more than 2000 visitors through the door to see the displays, including our 8' x 36' layout, pluse two tables full of LEGO creations!  We received a good response from those who came to see our work, and were awarded the Best Non-Scale award for our efforts!

Regina Model Train Show

The Regina Model Train Show starts tomorrow!!!

Held (for this year) at the Saskatchewan Science Centre, the show runs during the operational hours of the centre itself.  Admission to the Science Centre should give you admission to the show!

Due to the limited nature of the space, we will be offereing a 12'x12' layout with train track running through various terrain and themes!  We'll also have a couple other creations on hand that don't quite fit into the layout (scale-wise, not awesome-wise!)....

Saskatoon Train Show wrap-up

This past weekend, the Saskatchewan Lego Users Group took part in the Prairie Rail Workshop-hosted Saskatoon Model Train Show.  It was held at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon and had a very good turn-out by the public (numbers pending).

Eight of our members took part in the show creating a large 40'x8' train layout, as well as two display tables chalk-full of creations!  We were fortunate enough to earn the Best Non-Scale display award again for our efforts!

Prince Albert Show this weekend!

This weekend, SLUG will be taking part in the Prince Albert Train and Hobby Show!  This is the show's second year, and our second year at it!

With this show being a "train AND hobby" show, we are able to further break away from a single, large, train-based layout and showcase more of our individual creations!  We will still have a couple of train loops represented of course, but there will be three other tables FULL of creations by our AFOL's!

Moose Jaw Train Show round up

This past weekend (March 24th - 25th) SLUG took part in the THUNDER CREEK Model Train Show at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw.  Our display contained over 90' of train track and many different themes.  Seven of our members took part in this show, creating various aspects to the layout:

- Ray M.'s alien holiday grew with the addition of new ships ADU soldier craziness.
- Nathan and Ley brought their EPIC Area 51 layout with some new additions.

Moose Jaw Show - THIS WEEKEND!!!

Whoa!  Deja vu!

This weekend (March 24th - 251th) is our second show of the year, not to mention our second in two weeks!!!

We have a 44 foot linear display planned for this show!  Seven AFOL's built creations for this show and we're happy to show them off!  It should be pretty awesome!  Many different styles and themes will be represented, so there will be something for everyone to see!

Saskatoon Train Show round-up

This past weekend (March 10th - 11th) SLUG took part in the ALL ABOARD Train Show at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon.  Our display measured 0ver 48' long and was 16' wide in some areas.  Eight of our members took part in this show, creating various aspects to the layout:

- Nathan and Ley brought there astounding Area 51 layout complete with it's hanger, HUGE spaceship and desert scene.

Saskatoon Show - THIS WEEKEND!!!

This weekend (March 10th - 11th) is our first show of the year!

We've got a MASSIVE display planned for this show with over 338 square feet of member-created goodness!  Seven of our members are building towards this show, so there will be many different styles shown!  It's going to be GREAT!

The show is hosted by the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon and will be open from 9am - 5pm each day.  All of our members will be there to talk with about our display and to answer any questions someo...
