BRICKSPO's 5th year!

On July 22nd - 24th, SLUG presented it's fifth annual summer LEGO showcase, BRICKSPO.  Being the fifth year of the show, we wanted to make it even bigger and better than we had in the past!  More exhibitors, larger creations, more giveaways, more visitors... and boy did it work!

We had 39 Adult Fans of LEGO showing hundres of their amazing creations to the public!

There were 8 large-scale / collaborative builds including Fancon '16 which included the work of more than a dozen builders!

BRICKSPO 2 days away!

BRICKSPO, our annual showcase of LEGO creations is only 2 days away!

We have dozens of adult builders bringing hundreds of LEGO creations to be viewed at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw!  The show will be open during Museum hours, 9-5 on both Saturday and Sunday.

We're happy to have Bricks 4 Kids return to BRICKSPO for some awesome workshops!  

Don't forget, you have a chance to win multiple LEGO sets by voting for the number of different contests we're holding at the show this year!...

BRICKSPO - 2 months away!

We are currently a little over 2 months away from our 4th annual LEGO showcase - BRICKSPO!

This year`s show, July 25th - 26th, promises to be even bigger and better than those in the past!  We`re planning on having over 25 LEGO enthusiasts at the show and are making space available for more than 500 LEGO creations in 10 different themes!

But our participants won`t be the only ones having fun...  We are providing a number of ways for visitors of the show to build, play and interact:

BRICKSPO 2014

Our third annual showcase wrapped up this past weekend at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw!

We were pleased to host four out-of-province participants to the show, including one visitor from the United States, which makes this BRICKSPO an international affair!  We also had 2328 people visit the museum to see our creations!

This year also saw the introduction of various 'Best of' awards for the show.  Some were voted on by the coordinators of the show, others by the visiting public.  H...

BRICKSPO countdown!

BRICKSPO, our summer showcase at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw is less than 75 days away!

Our annual event has brought in more than 3800 visitors to view the more than 500 creations we have displayed!  We have added a number of public participation elements this year, including:

- a Kids Building Contest for LEGO fans aged 10 - 14!

- building workshops hosted by Bricks 4 Kidz

- lots chances to win great LEGO prizes!

BRICKSPO was a SUCCESS!!!

This past weekend was our second annual showcase, BRICKSPO at the Western development Museum in Moose Jaw!  We had a total of 14 builders take part in the show, including two visiting non-members.  Over 350 creations were on display for the over 2400 public visitors!

We ran some events for our attending builders including inaugural 9v Minifig jousting and Wacky Races!  Here is a run-down of our winners:

BRICKSPO Building Challenge!

With 50 days left to go before BRICKSPO, it is time that we announced this year's building challenge!  This will be our group's sixth building challenge (and one of at least 3 at the show) and will be voted on by visitors to the show.  Our 6th challenge is... a ONE COLOUR BUILD challenge!

The idea for this challenge is to build something our of Lego using only one colour.  Whether the creation is a car, or a house, or an abstract sculpture it has to be made using only one colour of Lego elemen...

BRICKSPO!

Our second-annual BRICKSPO is a little over two months away!

This year's show promises to be bigger and better than last year's!  We'll have more attendees at the show with lots of creations to see!  Our builds will span many themes and many scales!

We have a lot of events planned for both attendees and visitors of the show!  There will be opportunities to learn new building techniques and opportunitites to win cool stuff!

We were very fortunate to have a good turn-out for BRCIKSPO this year (1435 people as previously mentioned).  However, we never expected to find ourselves posted on Youtube!

A big THANKS goes to user sasklegoboy on Youtube who posted two videos from the show!  In the first video, he takes a tour around some of the tables looking at the creations that interest him.  The second video is a collection of stills from the show set to a hip-hopin' soundtrack!  Check them out!

BRICKSPO was a HIT!!!

This past weekend was BRICKSPO, our first solo showcase!

We had twelve builder's invovled in this year's show and over 270 creations!  It's difficult to say for sure, but hundreds of thousands of bricks were on display for everyone to see.

We weren't too sure how many people would come out to see us, frankly, we would've been pleased with a turnout of family and friends.  After the two day event, the Western Development Museum let us know that 1,435 people came through the door!

Saskatchewan Lego Users Group's biggest event of the year is a little over five weeks away!
